WHITTIER, Calif. – Following a five year stint, Laura Elliot is resigning her position as Director of Operations & Inventory at Whittier College.
"I would like to personally thank Laura for all her contributions to our athletic program over the past five years," Director of Athletics Robert Coleman said. "I have nothing but respect and admiration for Laura and the work she did overseeing the equipment room and the changes she implemented during her time here at Whittier. Laura is a tireless worker and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
After four years as serving as Equipment Manager, Elliot was named Director of Operations & Inventory this past year.
She oversaw the overall operation of the Athletic Equipment Room with duties that included formulating and implementing equipment policies and procedures, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, storeroom access and usage, laundry services, maintenance and security.
In her position she also oversaw work study students and worked with coaches to determine equipment and apparel needs within budgets, researched innovations, suppliers and upgrades while also coordinating practice calendars for gymnasium hours and participating in all aspects of athletic event logistics. She also served as the assistant coach for women's basketball during her first three years.
Before coming to Whittier, Elliot served as a graduate assistant for the women's basketball program at Carson-Newman College, while she obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Prior to that she played basketball at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN, where she obtained a B.A. in Communications in 2008. Her playing career also included a two-year stint at Ohlone College where she was named 1st Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State before moving on to Lincoln Memorial.
