Whittier College Links |
Whittier College is located about 12 miles southeast of the City of Los Angeles, easily accessible from the 605 Freeway, which runs the north-south corridor between Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The campus is situated on the eastern edge of historic Uptown Whittier, on Painter Avenue, between Philadelphia Street and Earlham Drive.
Situated on 74 hillside acres, the campus houses 29 academic and administrative facilities, seven residence halls, a chapel, two 100+ seat auditoriums, an outdoor amphitheatre, an art gallery, a Cultural Center, and three Faculty Masters Houses.
The athletic complex is on the east end of campus off of Earlham and Canyon Drive is set against the east side of picturesque Worsham Canyon.
The Poets sponsor 22 varsity sports and have seven facilities to accommodate the programs. The Donald E. Graham Athletic Center is the epicenter of the department as it features the Richard Ettinger Tennis Courts, the Lillian Slade Aquatics Center, Dave Jacobs Court, the Hall of Fame, the George Allen Fitness, locker rooms, classrooms and offices.
Memorial Stadium is used for football, track & field and men's and women's lacrosse while Memorial Field is home to the Poets' baseball team and Palmer Field is the setting for home softball events.
The men's and women's soccer teams play on the Graham Soccer Field located north of Memorial Stadium.
