Hall of Fame Criteria & Rules

Criteria for Membership

  1. A multiple letter winner in the Whittier College intercollegiate athletic program; plus, must be on the First Team All-Conference for two years, or on the First Team All-Conference in two different sports; or
  2. Named to the First Team NAIA All-District or NCAA All-West Region team for two years in any sport; or
  3. An All-American or honorable mention selection in any sports; or
  4. A National or World Champion in any sport; or
  5. A United States Olympic Team member; or
  6. The holder of a Pacific Coast, National or World Record; or
  7. Successful as a professional athlete.

Rules for Membership

  1. "Honorary Membership" selections may be made if the individual has made an outstanding contribution to Whittier College's athletic program or has attained recognition at the state, national or world level as a coach, athlete or national leader.
  2. No candidate shall be considered for selectionto the Whittier College Athletic Hall of Fame until five years after graduation from the College, unless under exceptional circumstances.
  3. All candidates under consideration must have been in good standing while competing on an athletic team and must have graduated from Whittier College.
