Poets conclude Arizona trip with loss to Pacific Lutheran; Snap four game winning streak

HAPPY VALLEY, AZ – The Whittier College baseball team concluded their trip to Arizona today with a loss to Pacific Lutheran 11-4 in the final day of the Arizona Desert Classic Baseball Tournament snapping their four game winning streak.

Whittier now drops to .500 at 5-5, 1-2 SCIAC, while Pacific Lutheran improves to 4-2.

The Lutes Nathan Eisenhauer earned his first win of the season allowing an unearned run in six innings of work, while his teammates supported him with 14 hits dishing the Poets their first loss of the tournament.

The Poets are in action this Wednesday, February 22 beginning at 2pm as they play host to British Columbia in an exhibition contest before they open up a three game series with Caltech on Friday, February 24 and then Saturday, February 25.
