Vallejo earns 1st Team All-West Region Honors; 3rd Team All-American

WHITTIER, Calif. – Senior outfielder Andrew Vallejo continues to pour in the accolades for his stellar baseball season during his 2012 campaign being named to the 1st Team All West Regional team for the second straight year, while being named a 3rd Team All American by d3baseball.com.

Vallejo, who just recently graduated this past month with a degree in Political Science ended his four year career at Whittier with incredible numbers finishing with 148 games played, a .352 batting average, 201 hits, 43 doubles, 12 triples, 13 homeruns, 133 runs scored, 103 Runs batted in, 38 stolen bases, an on base percentage of .410, and a .534 slugging percentage.

This season he led the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in hits and batting average and was in the top five in hits in Div. III nationally proving to be one of the top baseball players in the country.

He also accomplished some incredible feats this season as well being named to the All-SCIAC 1st Team for the second straight year, being named to the 1st Team All-West Regional team for the second straight year, earning SCIAC Player of the Year honors for the first time in his collegiate career and the first at Whittier College since 1986, being named an All-American by d3baseball.com, and breaking Whittier College's single season hits record with 69.
