Football Loses in Wisconsin, SCIAC Play Starts Sept. 30

The Poets lost 31-2 against undefeated Carthage College (3-0) in Kenosha, Wisc. on September 16.  The Poets are now 0-2 as they prepare to begin SCIAC competition on September 30.

The second half brought the same frustrations for the Poets.  Scurlock's second intercepted pass was returned for a touchdown with 4:37 left in the third quarter.  Scurlock ended the day with three interceptions.  The Poets scored their only points of the game with a team safety with 2:37 remaining in the third.  Carthage capped the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run with 8:13 left in the game making the score 31-2.

The Poets' next game is on September 30 on the road against SCIAC rival Pomona-Pitzer College.  Kickoff is at 1pm.
