Boehm named to D3football.com Team of the Week

WHITTIER, Calif. - Brandon Boehm accomplished a first for the Whittier College football program. On Tuesday evening he was recognized as a member of the D3football.com Team of the Week after his performance against Menlo College on Saturday, September 26.

The 6-1, senior, linebacker finished with a game-high 14 tackles which includes the lone sack of the game for the Poets' defense. Boehm came away with six solo and eight assisted tackles in a 28-24 loss to Menlo.

D3football.com is the number one source for all Division III football information and has recognized a team of the week annually since the start of the 1999 season. The Wrightwood, Calif., native is the first member of the Whittier College football program to ever be recognized by D3football.com.

For the season Boehm has a team-high 19 tackles (8 solo, 11 assisted) and two tackles for loss. Last season he was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second-team.

Boehm is only the second SCIAC student-athlete to be named to the team of the week this season. Occidental's Alex Wertheimer earned the honor last week.
