Poets shoot 327 at first SCIAC Tournament
PASADENA, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference hosted its first golf tournament on February 17 at Brookside Country Club and the Whittier College golf team shot a 327 and finished in seventh place.
The Poets were paced by Donny Garrison who had a team-low 80. This is the second straight event that Whittier's low score was 80.
Mike Amarilla shot his second consecutive 81 while Charlie Phillips and Nikhil Bhardwaj he tallied an 83.
La Verene won the event with a 292 followed by Redlands (295), Occidental (302), Cal Lutheran (303), Pomona-Pitzer (313) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (314).
The purple and gold return to action on Tuesday, February 24, as they play at Candlewood Country Club at Noon. The tournament is hosted by Chapman University.
