Poets shoot season-low 302 at SCIAC #5

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Whittier College golf team shot a season-low 302 on Thursday afternoon at the Redlands Country Club to place the Poets sixth at the fifth Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.

Whittier was led by Nikhil Bhardwaj who shot a two-over 72. Donny Garrison finished one stroke behind Bhardwaj with a 73.

Ryan Kitabayashi and Paul Grey both broke the 80 barrier as they shot a 78 and 79 each, respectively.

The Poets were three stokes behind fifth place Pomona-Pitzer. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won with a 280. Redlands finished with a 280 as well but lost on a card off. La Verne shot one-over par as a team and finished third.

Andrew Moreno-Hunt rounded out the Top 5 for the Poets with an 82.
