Men's Basketball Player Honored by SCIAC, McLean '09 Scored 55 Points in Two Games Last Week

was named Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Week on January 31. 

McLean began the week with a team-high 18 points in the Poets' win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on January 24. He was 8-for-9 from the field in 24 minutes of action off the bench. He also pitched in with a block, three rebounds and two steals. He also drew four charges. McLean continued his hot streak on January 27 in Whittier's loss to Redlands. He scored a game-high 37 points and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. 10 of his rebounds came on the offensive end. He also led the Poets defensively with four blocks and he drew five charges in the game.  The 37 points and 17 rebounds are both career highs for McLean as well.
