Whittier Coaching Accomplishments

2000-10
The Poets ranked second in the conference in scoring offense and was one of the top three teams in field goal percentage. Carter placed two student-athletes on the All-SCIAC squad which includes Drew Menez who led the conference in scoring and landed on the first-team.

2008-09
Carter guided the Poets to a second place finish the SCIAC regular season,  a berth in the conference post-season tournament and the most wins since the 2002-03 season (16).

Whittier had two players land on the all-conference team.

2007-08
The Poets were one of five teams in the conference to finish the season with an overall record. Whittier ranked third in the conference in scoring offense, third in three-point field goal percentage and second in three-point field goal percentage defense.

Carter had two student-athletes land on the all-conference team.

2006-07
Whittier ranked second in the conference in blocked shots.

The Poets had two student-athletes land on the all-conference second team.

2005-06
Carter landed one student-athlete on the all-conference team.

2000-05
Over this five season span, Carter put together four winning seasons which includes a 17-8 mark during the 2002-03 campaign. The Poets followed its 17-win season with back-to-back 13-win seasons.

Carter and the Poets opened the decade with a 14-win season.

1990's
Carter was named the head coach prior to the start of the 1995-96 season. He served one season as the Interim head coach in 1993-94 and went back to an assistant before taking over the reigns of the program.

He put together a winning season in his second go-around with the purple and gold.

Prior to being named the varsity head coach, Carter was the JV head coach for four seasons from 1989 to 1993.

Other Accomplishments

Carter serves as the Associated Athletic Director.

During the summer months, Carter is the Director of the Whittier College Sports Camps and Swim Club. He is also the Director of the Whittier College Basketball Camp.

Carter holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and played two seasons for the Poets' basketball team.
