BEAUMONT, Calif. – The Whittier College Men's Golf team was unable to compete as a team this past week during the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships asJustin Bennett (Ventura, Calif.) and Max Meisenheimer (Huntington Beach, Calif.) competed as individuals over the three days.

Bennett was the lone Poet to compete all three days totaling a 235.  The first day he fired off an 81 but came back in tough windy/rainy conditions over the final two days to shoot a 77 both days, improving by four strokes as he finished in a tie for 29th.

Meisenheimer started off the Championships shooting an 87 on Day 1 but was forced to withdraw after coming down with an illness that took him out of rounds two and three.

The 2016 season wraps up as the Poets finish 8th in the SCIAC Standings and will see just two Poets return to the 2017 roster, Meisenheimer and Clement Liou (Paris, France).
