Ryan Kirkpatrick is a first year member of the Poets lacrosse team.  Kirkpatrick was born in Long Beach, Calif. and grew up for most of his childhood in Downey, Calif.  Ryan was first introduced to the sport in the tenth grade.  He played lacrosse for Coach Scott Witkin at Downey High School, where he graduated form in 2007.  During his high school career Ryan earned the title of Team Captain for two years, while on varsity.  At Whittier Ryan is studying as a Kinesiology and Leisure Studies/ Business major.  Outside of playing lacrosse he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and is a talented third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  Ryan has one younger sister, Megan.  He thanks and credits his parents Robin and Karin, and family for helping him be successful and reaching this point in his lacrosse career and life.
