WESTMINSTER, Md. - Anthony Lackey tallied a game-high six points on one goal and five assists but the Whittier College men's lacrosse team couldn't erase a 6-1 first quarter deficit as it dropped its second game in a row, 13-8, to McDaniel College.
The Poets (5-7) allowed five unanswered goals in the first quarter which includes two in the final minutes to fall behind by five goals, 6-1.
WC climbed back into the game in the second quarter with a 4-1 run to go into intermission down 7-5 but the Green Terror (7-2) outscored the purple and gold 5-1 in the third quarter en route to the win.
Daniel McQuade scored four goals for the Poets and Sean McCarroll added two goals in the loss.
Goalie Ben Brown made 13 saves Corey Schab recorded five caused turnovers to lead the defense.
The Poets conclude their east coast road trip, and regular season, on Saturday, April 4, as they face Christopher Newport University.
