Men's Soccer Shut Out at CMS, Poets Still Winless in SCIAC
Whittier College lost 7-0 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road game on October 18. The Poets are now 2-11 overall and 0-10 in the conference. Claremont is 6-6-1 overall and 5-4-1 in SCIAC play.
Cody Sowa '10 and Dan Roe '07 split time in goal and combined to make seven saves. The Poets were out shot 18-7, and the Stags took four more corner kicks. Claremont began the scoring with three goals in two minutes. They held a 4-0 lead at halftime. The second half started nearly the same way for Claremont as they scored three more in just six minutes, the final strike coming in the 58th minute.
