Poets unbeaten streak at nine with 2-0 win over CIT


PASADENA, Calif. - The Whittier College men's soccer team earned a 2-0 win on Wednesday afternoon over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for Caltech. The win extends the Poets' unbeaten streak to nine games as they battle for one of the top two spots in the upcoming SCIAC postseason tournament.

Whittier scored its first goal of the game at the 7:52 mark as Joshua Dredge finished a feed from Adolfo Santos. The Poets took a 1-0 lead into halftime before Santos delievered again; this time to DJ Covarrubias who gave Whittier a two-goal lead.

Michael Read played all 90 minutes between the pipes and made five saves to preserve the shutout.
