Harwell and Jovanovic preview 2012 men’s soccer season
WHITTIER, Calif. - Whittier College head men's soccer coach Shea Harwell and senior forward Srdan Jovanovic previewed the upcoming 2012 soccer season this morning and are expecting big things from the young but talented squad.
Harwell and Jovanovic sat down with the Sports Information Department and discussed what lies ahead for the Poet men's soccer program and their quest for their first SCIAC Championship after making three straight trips to the SCIAC Post Season Tournament.
They welcome in a strong recruiting class with players from across the world including England, Italy, and Egypt, just to name a few and look to bounce back strongly after their 9-9, 9-5 SCIAC record from 2011.
The Purple & Gold begin their season on August 31st as they travel to take on The Master's College in a preseason match-up and will have their home opener on September 14th against Southwestern College (TX) beginning at 7:00pm.
