Whittier Coaching Accomplishments

2009
Walmsley and the Poets enjoyed a lot of success as the season was highlighted by a second place SCIAC finish in the regular season, an 11-game unbeaten streak and the second seed in the conference tournament.

The Poets saw five players land on the all-conference team.


2008
Whittier earned a season sweep of SCIAC foe Caltech and picked up a win over SOKA University.

Walmsley saw one student-athlete earn all-conference honors.


2007
Walmsley was named the head coach just a few weeks befor the season. Despite the short notice, the Poets won a pair of games which includes a 1-0 win over Pomona-Pitzer.

Other Coaching Accomplishments

Walmsley has worked alongside coaches from Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and has attended clincis with coaches from Inter Milan, Ajax, Barcelone, Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle United.

His coaching resume includes stints at Preston North End (English Championships team) Soccer School, Lancashire FA Center of Excellence, Squaw Valley Soccer Camp, UK International Soccer Camps and Challenger British Soccer Camps.


Accomplishments as a Player

Was a member of the 1988 University of Illinois National Collegiate Club Championships team.

Signed semi-professional forms at 16 for trials with Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End, Oldham Athletic and Blackpool FC.


Other Accomplishments

Earned the USSF A License in 2000, the English FA Coaching Certificate in 1994 and the Scottish Team Managers Certificate in 1990.
