Water Polo Splits at Cal Baptist, Poets Beat Gannon in High Scoring Affair

Whittier College traveled to California Baptist University for a pair of games on October 11.  The Poets (5-13) won their first match of the day 16-12 over Gannon University (5-10), but lost to nationally ranked No. 20 California Baptist (18-7) 13-6 in game two. 

Mark Canner '07 netted four goals in the win over Gannon.  He finished with five goals and three drawn penalties on the day.  Cody Pletcher '07 scored three times and had two assists against Gannon.  Jake Zerbe '07 finished the day with four goals, three against Cal Baptist.  Chris Villanueva '09 was credited with six assists in the two games.
