Water Polo Cruises Past Caltech, Carty Gets 150th Career Coaching Win


Five Poets scored three or more goals as Whittier College beat the California Institute of Technology 20-7 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on October 3.  The win puts the Poets in third place in the SCIAC and gives head coach Mitch Carty his 150th career coaching victory.

Chris Kirby '09 led the way for the Poets with four goals, four steals and two assists.  Matt Rogers '08, Mark Canner '07, Lance Haver '10 and Tim Beck '10 added three goals apiece.   Dante Morley-Montes '10 finished with two goals, two steals and three assists.  Chris Villanueva '09 scored a goal, had three steals and handed out three assists.  Matt Brammer '09 and John Jacobson '08 combined to make eight saves in goal.
