Three Water Polo Players Recognized by SCIAC, Brammer Named to Second Team

Three Whittier College men's water polo players were honored by
the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for
their performances during the 2007 season.
Goalkeeper Matt Brammer '09 was named to the All-SCIAC second
team. He finished the season with the third highest save
total in all of collegiate water polo with 306. He also led
the Poets with 53 steals this season. It is the second
straight year Brammer earned All-SCIAC honors. He was also a
second team All-American in 2006.
Chris Villanueva '09 and Matt Rogers '08 were All-SCIAC honorable
mention selections. Villanueva was sixth in the nation with
83 goals this season; Rogers was 23rd with 60.
Villanueva also led the Poets with 51 assists and Rogers had a
team-high 63 drawn ejections.
The Poets finished 9-20 overall and 3-7 in conference play this
season.
