Regehr earns second-team All-WWPA honors

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - One day after he earned first-team All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors senior goalie Casey Regehr was recognized once again. This time, for the second straight season, he was named to the second-team All-Western Water Polo Association team.

Regehr's resume includes being a two-time All-SCIAC and two-time All-WWPA performer, a 2008 second-team ACWPC All-American and a 2008 All-Academic Award recipient.

This year he has set a new school record for saves in a season (394) and ranks second all-time in Whittier's history in career saves (659). He stopped a season-high 22 shots on October 4 against La Verne and had 20 or more saves on five separate occasions.

Regehr is one of four Division III student-athletes to land on the first or second All-WWPA team and one of one of eight D-III players to earn first, second or honorable mention honors which includes sophomore Rilesh Desai.

Desai is a first-team All-SCIAC honoree and garnered a spot on the honorable mention All-WWPA team. Desai is the team leader in assists with 65 and ranks second on the team with 41 goals. He has a team-high 39 drawn ejections and is tops on the squad with 28 steals.
