2017 Men's Water Polo Schedule

WHITTIER, Calif. – Director of Aquatics and Head Water Polo Coach Justin Pudwill officially announced his 2017 Schedule for Men's Water Polo Friday.

This season's schedule brings with it a home and away portion of conference play along with four invitational tournaments.

The Purple & Gold open their 2017 campaign hosting their annual Whittier Open on September 2 with Chapman, Pepperdine, Occidental, Fresno Pacific, and Concordia (Calif.) taking part.  They then travel to the Inland Empire Classic on September 10 before going up north to Davis, Calif. to play in the Aggie Round Up (Sept. 16-17) with games against four Division I opponents in Santa Clara, San Jose State, Long Beach State, and Pepperdine.

Three days later they return home to host Pomona-Pitzer (Sept. 20) to open Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action and will remain with their conference schedule for the next three games (Occidental, La Verne, Redlands) before wrapping up September play with a road match-up against Division I Loyola Marymount (Sept. 30).

The Poets host Chapman on October 4 to begin October play right in front of competing in the Gary Troyer Tournament on October 6-7.

The final nine games of the regular season will all include SCIAC match-ups, with four being at home (Caltech – Oct. 14), (Occidental – Oct. 25), (La Verne – Oct. 28), (Cal Lutheran – Nov. 8).

This past season the Poets finished 19-13, 8-3 SCIAC and placed 2nd in the final SCIAC Standings.
