  • Benjamin White Qualifies for NCAA Championships

    Sophomore Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) was the first among seven individual qualifiers to earn a ticket to the NCAA Division III National Cross Country Championships after competing in a field of approximately 120 at the NCAA West Regional hosted Saturday by Whitman College.
  • Cross Country Competes at SCIAC Championships

    Senior Anahy Covarrubias (Los Angeles, Calif.) and sophomore Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) continued their break-out cross country seasons at the SCIAC Championships over the weekend, easily qualifying for the NCAA West Regional scheduled for November 10 in Walla Walla, WA. Anahy and Ben will be going after one of seven individual qualifying spots for the NCAA Championships hosted at Lake Breeze Golf Course, Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

    The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athletes of the Week were announced Monday and sophomore Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) was recognized as the Cross-Country Athlete of the Week in the eighth week of voting.

    The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their National Athletes of the Week Tuesday and sophomore Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) was named the Division III National Runner of the Week.
  • Poet Runners Race at Cal State Fullerton

    The Whittier College men’s and women’s cross country teams took advantage of mid-semester break to compete in a Friday meet on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. The races were open to post-collegiate clubs and individuals as well as all divisions of collegiate teams. “We always seek the most challenging competition because it helps motivate our improvement,” commented head coach Greg Phillips.

    Sophomore Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) was just named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Athlete of the Week announced Monday by the conference office.
  • Benjamin White wins Pomona Invitational

    For the second consecutive year Whittier Cross Country claims an individual title at the Pomona Invitational. In 2017, 2-time National Qualifier Julian Sandoval claimed the title while teammate Benjamin White (La Habra Heights, Calif.) placed 13th overall. One year later White found himself on the top of the podium conducting post- race interviews after a whopping 47-second improvement on the Pomona campus course. His time was 25:23 for the 5-mile course ranking 2nd best all-time for Whittier men at Pomona. More than 100 runners started the race.
