Track & Field Participates at Tiny Lister Classic

Seven members of the Whittier College Track and Field teams traveled to California State University-Los Angeles for the Tiny Lister Classic on April 20 and 21.  The event served the Poets as a tune-up for the upcoming SCIAC Championships, hosted by Whittier College, on April 28 and 30.

Of the seven Poets competing, four achieved personal best times.  Dana Allen '07 finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.41 seconds.  Darlene Partida '10 finished ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:28.34. 

On the men's side, John Morely '07 finished sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.25.  Nicholas Salomone '07 took eleventh in the same event with a time of 2:01.88. 

Three other Poets entered events, and despite not setting personal record times, still finished strong.  Adrianna Durflinger '09 took 12th place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:46.22.  Raphael Rodriguez '10 finished 14th and Yuki Miyagiwa '09 finished 16th in the 1500-meter run with times of  4:20.25 and 4:21.82, respectively.
