Gangloff '09 Earns All-American Honors

finished in fifth place in the discus to earn All-American honors at the 2007 Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on May 23-25.

Gangloff entered the Championships with the eleventh best mark in the country.  In the preliminary round of the event, she qualified for the finals with a mark of 139 feet, 5 inches, good for fourth in qualifying.  In the final round, she finished with the exact same mark, putting her in fifth place overall. 

 Gangloff currently holds the Whittier College women's record in the event with a mark of 147'7".  This is the second year in a row she has qualified for nationals in the discus.  She earned All-SCIAC honors in the discus and shot put in 2006, and was all-conference in the shot put and hammer throw in 2007.
