2009 Track Preview
The track & field programs are looking to make a statement this year in the SCIAC rankings as they move towards the goal of becoming a top level conference team. There is excitement with a squad that has doubled from last year with much needed depth in numbers for many events. A slew of new comers will be looking to the top returning athletes for someone to follow.
The men will be led by returning All-conference performers TC Collymore, Brad Seitz, and Brandon Wilcox as well as Matt Carroll, Thomas Martinez, Bryce Holewinski, and Luis Molina. The newcomers expected to contribute right away are Sean Arps in distance, Oreese Hoyes, John Jackson, Stephen Dickerson, and Zach Garrett all in the sprints, and Garrett Carr in the throws.
The women will be led by returning All-conference performers Rosario Rios-Aguilar, Kashima Patridge, Shuree Gangloff, and Essence Scott as well as Stephanie Anderson, Darlene Partida, and Ashley Vierra. The newcomers expected to contribute right away are Michele Calloway, Molly Litherlund, Candace Wray with several others in the distance, Daisha Richards in the sprints/hurdles, and Sara Gomez in the pole vault.
