Women's Basketball Cruises Past Southwestern, Allen '07 Finishes with Double-Double

Dana Allen '07 scored 16 points and pulled down ten rebounds as Whittier College won 84-40 over Southwestern College (Ariz.) in non-conference play at Graham Athletics Center on February 6.  The Poets are back above .500 with their overall record now 10-9.

Michelle Mascoto '07 also scored 16 points and added four rebounds, four steals and three assists.  Christina Ledesma '08 was the only other Poet in double figures with ten points. 

The Poets forced 29 Southwestern turnovers and held the Lady Eagles to just 34 percent shooting in the game.  The Poets held a 46-24 lead at halftime.  They shot nearly 48 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the three-point line.
