Brad Durchslag completed his first season at the helm of the Whittier College women's basketball program in 2008-09 by guiding the Poets to their first winning season in five years. The Poets ended the year with a 16-10 record and ranked fourth in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Durchslag led the Poets to the second most wins this decade and placed Kourtney Zilbert on her second consecutive All-SCIAC first-team. She was also named to the D3hoops.com All-West Region third-team.
A 1999 graduate of Trinity (Texas) University, Durchslag began his coaching career in 2001 as the first assistant for the Tigers. In his four seasons with Trinity he helped the team to a 93-22 record which includes the Division III National Championship in the 2002-03 season. The Tigers also advanced to the Regional Semifinals in 2004-05.
Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., he went to Carnegie Mellon for the 2005-06 season before he took over as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator at Division I Jacksonville State University under the direction of former Trinity head coach Becky Geyer. Durchslag helped build the JSU program back to respectability as it qualified for the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in his final season.
Durchslag holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with a minor in Kinesiology and Business Law and earned his Mater's Degree in Education with a concentration in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2004.
He currently resides in Whittier with his fiancée Jaime Kellerman.
