2007 Poets Women's Lacrosse Recap

The 2007 Whittier College women's lacrosse team went 4-11 this
season, giving them the most wins for the program since 2003.
The success of the 2007 season comes after two consecutive seasons
without a win. The Poets picked up wins against Marymount,
Pacific University twice and the University of Dallas. They
ended their season with back-to-back wins, the first time the team
won two straight since 2001.
The Poets were led on offense by freshman Emily Mukai, who had 23
goals and six assists. Junior Kourtney Sexauer was next on
the team with 22 goals and two assists. Defensively,
sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Ferrell had a solid season, averaging
over ten saves per game.
The team loses just two seniors to graduation this year, giving the
team high hopes for even greater improvements in 2008.
