Bibby tallies seven goals, Poets fall to CMS 24-14

WHITTIER, Calif. - The Whittier College women's lacrosse team returned to the field for the first time since its three-game spring break trip on Monday evening and saw its four-game win streak snapped to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 24-14.
Lauren Bibby scored seven goals for the Poets (6-6) to lead all goal scorers. In all Whittier got at least one goal from seven different players.
The Athenas (7-1) led 9-6 at halftime and used a seven-goal run within the first 10 minutes of the second half to run away from the purple and gold.
CMS outshot Whittier 42-35 but WC held the advantage in draw controls (21-19). Both teams corralled 10 ground balls.
The Poets return to action Wednesday, April 15, as they host Pomona-Pitzer at 7 p.m.
