WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Lacrosse team came up big with a lopsided win Wednesday night rolling past Linfield College 14-4 to improve to 3-8, 0-5 SCIAC.

The Purple & Gold were never threatened as they rattled off five straight to start the game off before rolling to the home victory.

Emily Hansen (Seal Beach, Calif.) led the charge with three of the goals during the run and was joined by Morgan Miracle (Tustin, Calif.) and Lexie Meanor (Sewickley, PA).

The Wildcats stopped the run with a tally from Dana Brooks soon after but Meanor countered with another two goals that stretched the lead to 7-1.

Over the final 12:49 both teams added goals with Hansen adding her fourth of the half that made the score 8-2 at the break and from there the Poets didn't let up.

Linfield opened up the scoring in the second half to cut the deficit to five but that's as close as they would get as Whittier would add six unanswered that put the game out of reach.

During this run Meanor added three goals, while Hansen tacked on another two, and Neely O'Grady (Lorton, VA) with one.

Hansen and Meanor each added six goals apiece and an assist, while combining for eight caused turnovers and nine groundballs.

Madison Topping (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) earned the win and totaled three saves against five shots.

Whittier outshot Linfield 39-11 on the evening, was 10-11 on clear attempts, was 3-5 on free positions, and hauled in 14 draw controls.

Whittier returns to competition next Saturday, April 8 as they host Occidental College beginning at 11:00am.
