Originally from Marblehead, Mass., Hammer started with a 12 member team in '05 and has grown the roster to 20 at the conclusion of the '09 year.
A 2001 graduate of Denison University, Hammer earned her Bachelor's Degree in Art History and was a four-year member of the lacrosse team. In her final year with the Big Red she was selected All-Region Honorable Mention as a defender.
One of the defining moments of her career at Whittier was the team's 19-18 overtime win against Denison.
Prior to joining the Poet staff Hammer served as the head coach for the Andover High School girl's lacrosse program in Massachusetts. Under her tutelage she send a number of her players to play intercollegiate lacrosse at places such as Northwestern, the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Babson, Ithaca and Bates among other places.
