Women's Soccer Loses SCIAC Contest, Poets Now 0-4 in Conference


Whittier College lost 4-0 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road game on September 23.  The Poets are now 0-5 overall and 0-4 in SCIAC play while CMS improved their record to 4-3-1 overall, 2-2 in the SCIAC.

Lowhren Aceves '10 made eight saves in goal for the Poets.  The Stags held a 30-2 advantage in shots and a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.  Claremont started the scoring in the 10th minute and added another in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into half time.  In the second half, a pair of long-range shots got past Aceves in the 62nd and 85th minutes to give the Stags the 4-0 victory.
