2007 Women's Soccer Recap
Women’s Soccer was in the middle of a rebuilding year under first-year head coach, Nicole Gervais. Only five on the 22-player roster were from last season’s team in addition to nine freshman.

Two Poets Soccer Players Honored by SCIAC
Two Whittier College soccer players were named to All-SCIAC teams this week. Ameshia Hamlet ’11 was named to the women’s All-SCIAC first team and Kody Seminara ’08 earned second team honors on the men’s side.

Women's Soccer Gives Up Seven Second Half Goals in Loss to Redlands
Whittier College women’s soccer lost 8-0 to SCIAC rival University of Redlands on October 13. The score was 1-0 at halftime, but the Redlands offense took control in the second half with 24 shots and seven goals. The loss drops the Poets record to 0-13 overall and 0-9 in conference play.

Women's Soccer Gives Up Three Second Half Goals in Loss to Cal Lu
Whittier College women’s soccer lost 3-0 to California Lutheran University at Donald E. Graham Soccer Field on October 10. The Poets lost 10-0 to the Regals in their first meeting on September 15.

Women's Soccer Loses Battle with Occidental
For fifty-seven minutes, Whittier College women’s soccer was in a scoreless battle with Occidental College at Donald E. Graham Soccer Field on October 3. The West Region’s #4 team eventually broke the scoreless tie and went on to beat the Poets 5-0 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up.

Women's Soccer Scores First Goal This Season, but Fall to La Verne 2-1
Ameshia Hamlet '11 scored Whittier College’s first goal of the season, but the Poets lost 2-1 to the University of La Verne in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at Graham Soccer Field on September 29. The Poets are now 0-9 this season and 0-5 in SCIAC play.

Women's Soccer Blanked at Pomona
Whittier College lost 7-0 to Pomona-Pitzer in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on September 22 in Claremont, Calif. The Poets are still winless this season with an 0-7 overall record and are 0-4 in conference play. Pomona improves to 3-3-1, 1-2-1.

Whittier College women’s soccer suffered an 8-0 conference loss on the road to California Lutheran University on September 15. The loss drops the Poets’ record to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

Women's Soccer Drops SCIAC Opener
The Poets women’s soccer team began play in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 9-0 loss to visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on September 12. With the loss, the Poets fall to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in SCIAC play.

Women's Soccer Blanked by San Diego Christian, Aceves '10 Makes 16 Saves
Lowhren Aceves ’10 made a career-high 16 saves in goal for Whittier College, but the Poets women’s soccer team lost 10-0 at home to non-conference opponent San Diego Christian College on September 8th.

Poets Lose Season Opener to Principia
The Whittier College women’s soccer team opened its season at home today, with the temperature in triple digits at game time. However, it was their opponents, the Principia College Panthers, who burnt the Poets with a 6-0 defeat.
