2007 Women's Soccer Recap

Women's Soccer was in the middle of a rebuilding
year under first-year head coach, Nicole Gervais. Only five on the
22-player roster were from last season's team in addition to nine
freshman.
Despite not winning a game, the Poets showed significant
improvement throughout the season and developed some young talent.
Freshman Ameshia Hamlet illustrated that point; she was named to
the All-SCIAC first team for her performance throughout the
year.
The team loses just three seniors to graduation and brings back a
number of influential players. Coupled with the incoming talent
recruited by Gervais, there is a bright future ahead of the
program. "It was a learning experience this year," said Gervais.
"We have a solid foundation to build on, and a number of transfers
and freshman coming in that will make an immediate impact on the
program next year."
