PASADENA, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Soccer team remains hot as they again poured on the offense in their third straight game dismissing Providence Christian University 5-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Purple & Gold improve to 3-0 on the season and are averaging 4.33 goals-per-game, while allowing a mere 0.67 goals against average.

The Poets struck first in the contest to go ahead for the third straight game from Kanoe Morihara (Mililani, HI).  The Seabeggars though would be able to add the equalizer on their ensuing possession but that's as close as they would get as Whittier would roll from there as Leah Kolek (Diamond Bar, Calif.) would add the go ahead goal five minutes later before Lyla Matar (Glendale, Calif.) would register her first of the year with :30 seconds left before the half.

In the second, WC continued where they left off but this time from junior Miranda Yzabal (Whittier, Calif.) who would add the final two connections for the Poets giving them insurance as the would go on to pull off the lopsided road win.

Stella Thermos (Seal Beach, Calif.) picked up her third win between the posts as she collected two saves playing all 90:00.  Whittier' defensive unit stood strong for the game allowing a mere four shots, while the offense totaled 29.  Lauren Kai (Torrance, Calif.) led the onslaught with six shots, while Aubrey Baran (La Mirada, Calif.), Morihara, and Yzabal each recorded four a piece.

Whittier remains on the road this Wednesday, September 13 as they take on Occidental College in their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opener with game time set for 7:00pm.
