WHITTIER, Calif. – The Whittier College Women's Soccer team after upsetting the No. 1 seeded Regals of Cal Lutheran University Thursday night at Rolland Stadium 3-2 in overtime has now made their way into the SCIAC Post Season Tournament Championship game.
The Purple & Gold will now face-off against Pomona-Pitzer, who ranks as the No. 2 seed tomorrow, Saturday, November 4 beginning at 12:00pm on the campus of Pomona-Pitzer.
The Sagehens held on for a 2-1 victory in their semi-final game over the Uni. of Redlands and have a 10-7-3, 6-5-3 SCIAC record. The Poets ended their two game losing streak with their win over CLU and improve to 11-8, 6-8 SCIAC.

Whittier is led by an 11-point effort from Lauren Kai (three goals, five assists), while Miranda Yzabal (four goals) and Leah Kolek (three goals, two assists) follow with eight points each. Lyla Matar leads Whittier with a 0.92 goals-against average and 31 saves, while Stella Thermos has notched 29 saves and a 1.49 GAA. Not to be overlooked is sophomore Andrea Aldama who has nine points on the season as well with three goals and three assists, with two of the strikes coming against Cal Lutheran on Thursday.
Pomona-Pitzer has won just one of its last five games entering tournament action. The Sagehens are led by Abby Onderwyzer Gold who has eight goals and 17 points, while Bria VarnBuhler has collected 10 points on the strength of four goals. Lily Gane has also notched four markers and follows with nine points during SCIAC action. Isa Berardo has turned away 60 shots on frame and logged a goals-against average of 0.92.
