WHITTIER, Calif. – Coming off one of the best single season performances in program history, the Whittier College Women's Soccer team looks to carry the momentum into 2018 as first year Head Coach Derek Hanks released his schedule Monday.
The 2018 slate includes nine home games with five occurring in September. The Purple & Gold open up their season with back-to-back non-conference games against Piedmont (GA) and University of Dallas on August 31 and September 2.
They then continue their home stand with another two games as they open up Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play with Chapman (September 5) and Occidental (September 8). They travel for the first time for two match-ups against Caltech (September 12) and La Verne (September 15) before returning home to Memorial Stadium to host Claremont-M-S (September 19) and Pomona-Pitzer (September 22). The final game of September will occur on September 26 when they travel to take on Cal Lutheran.
Whittier hosts only three games in the month of October, which will include Redlands (October 3), La Verne (October 17), and Caltech (October 27). They will play the other four games on the road against Chapman (October 6), Occidental (October 10), Claremont-M-S (October 20), and Pomona-Pitzer (October 24).
Whittier finished 12-9, 6-8 SCIAC last season in 2017, won the SCIAC Post Season Tournament and earned a berth into the NCAA Division III National Championships for the second time in program history.
