Victoria Lathrop is entering her second season as the assistant
coach of the Whittier College women's soccer program. She
brings 21 years of playing and coaching experience to the Poets,
including a two-year stint as a player/coach for the California
State University-Long Beach women's club soccer team.
Lathrop has coaching experience at all levels. She has
coached girls ages fourteen and under in the American Youth Soccer
Organization, and spent two years as the junior varsity and varsity
women's soccer head coach at Carson high School in Carson,
Calif. She is also the Regional Coaching Administrator for
Kidz Love Soccer, Inc., where she oversees soccer programs in six
cities in and around Los Angeles.
As a player, Lathrop got started at the age of six at a local AYSO
league. She went on to play for the Santa Anita Soccer Club
for seven years. She also played for her high school,
Maranatha, where she won three league championships and two
CIF-Southern Section titles. In addition to her time as a
player/coach at CSULB, she also played for the University of Wales
Institute-Cardiff women's soccer team during a semester abroad in
Cardiff, Wales.
Lathrop graduated from Cal State-Long Beach in 2006 with a
Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Sports
Psychology and Coaching. She currently resides in Monrovia,
Calif.
