Nicole Gervais prepares for her second season as the head coach of the women's soccer team. During her first year, she was pleased with the growth of the team, despite the scores. In the off-season, Gervais is busy recruiting hard-working dedicated athletes to bring into the program. In the fall of 2008, she will be serving on the NSCAA Ranking Committee.

Prior to joining the Whittier staff, Gervais spent five seasons as an assistant at her alma mater, Principia College. While at Prinipica, Gervais left after being a player and coach with a record of 137-62-6. As a player, Gervais is the all-time leading scorer in Principia history netting 84 goals with 54 assists for 222 total points during her career. She was a 3-time SLIAC Player of the Year and 2-time NSCAA regional team selection at Principia. In 2004, during her 3rd year as the assistant coach, Principia earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time in the school's history. Gervais was elected to the SLIAC Hall of Fame in February 2007.

Before Principia, she coached and assisted in a high school girls' program at Bishop Montgomery in California, served as a trainer for the U-19 Palos Verdes Breakers and head coach of the girl's junior high school team in the Palos Verdes School District. Gervais has earned a Master's degree from the United States Sports Academy, is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and holds the NSCAA National Diploma.

Victoria Lathrop is entering her second season as the assistant coach of the Whittier College women's soccer program.  She brings 21 years of playing and coaching experience to the Poets, including a two-year stint as a player/coach for the California State University-Long Beach women's club soccer team.

Lathrop has coaching experience at all levels.  She has coached girls ages fourteen and under in the American Youth Soccer Organization, and spent two years as the junior varsity and varsity women's soccer head coach at Carson high School in Carson, Calif.  She is also the Regional Coaching Administrator for Kidz Love Soccer, Inc., where she oversees soccer programs in six cities in and around Los Angeles. 

As a player, Lathrop got started at the age of six at a local AYSO league.  She went on to play for the Santa Anita Soccer Club for seven years.  She also played for her high school, Maranatha, where she won three league championships and two CIF-Southern Section titles.  In addition to her time as a player/coach at CSULB, she also played for the University of Wales Institute-Cardiff women's soccer team during a semester abroad in Cardiff, Wales.

Lathrop graduated from Cal State-Long Beach in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Sports Psychology and Coaching.  She currently resides in Monrovia, Calif.
