The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced this week its 2011-12 swimming and diving Academic All-Americans.

Three Poets earn All-SCIAC recognition
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released the other day the 2011-12 Men’s & Women's Swimming and Diving All-SCIAC teams and Whittier had three athletes obtain All-SCIAC honors including Tyler Aisner, Erin Bartholomew, and Evelyn Beguristain.

Poets stay put on Day 2 of SCIAC Championships
The Whittier College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams remain put on Day 2 of the SCIAC Championships as they remain in 6th place.

Whittier concludes day one of SCIAC Championships
After day one of the SCIAC Championships, the men’s swimming & diving team sit in 6th place with 102 points, while the women sit in 5th with 103.

Tyler Aisner advances to SCIAC Finals; Zmuda finishes 14th
The University of Redlands hosted the 2012 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Diving Prelims at the beautiful Thompson Aquatic Center on Saturday and Sunday. Amidst some of the best diving competition within the conference in quite some time, the winners of each event all recorded NCAA Division III qualifying scores for a championship meet.

Poets close out regular season with narrow loss to Regals
The Whittier College women’s swimming & diving team for the third straight week was able to compete in the newly renovated Lillian Slade Aquatic Center but have dropped two in a row falling to the Regals of Cal Lutheran University 131.5 to 98.5.

The Whittier College women’s swimming & diving team had their second straight meet in the friendly confines of the Lillian Slade Aquatic Center but was unable to upset the Bulldogs of the University of Redlands this past Saturday morning.

Records set in 162-51 SCIAC win over Leopards
It’s been nearly two years since the Poets have had a home swim meet and yesterday morning the newly renovated Lillian Slade Aquatic Center proved to be a sight to see as the Whittier College women’s swimming and diving team set ten pool records in their 162-51 victory over the Leopards.

The Whittier College women’s swimming & diving team got up early but was unable to hold on as they dropped a 175-105 decision to the Tigers of Occidental College.

The Whittier College women’s swimming & diving team started the 2012 year off with a loss to the Athena’s of Claremont-M-S 185-51 days after the opening of their new aquatics complex.

The women’s swimming & diving team concluded the UNLV Winter Invitational finishing 8th out of thirteen teams in front of Fresno State, Concordia, Chapman, and Azusa Pacific with 23 points.

The Whittier women’s swimming & diving team competed in the Bulldog Swim Invite Saturday morning for their first contest of the 2011-12 season and finished in 6th place in front of Chapman University and the University of La Verne with a score of 82.
