2008 Women's Tennis Recap

Women's Tennis picked up three more wins than they had last season, finishing 3-14 before heading into the SCIAC Championships. They also moved up in the SCIAC standings, finishing seventh.

There is no doubt the Poets are improving. They won both matches against SoCal rival La Sierra University and took care of conference foe Caltech. Team Most Valuable Player, senior Jen Pigott, advanced to the round of 16 at the Ojai Tennis Championships. She beat players from NAIA schools Biola and Master's College before losing to the tournament's #3 seed. It is the best performance by a Whittier woman ever at Ojai.

Also receiving team awards were Rookie of the Year Brenda Santana and Most Improved Player Bibi Gonzalez.
