Women's Tennis releases 2010 schedule

WHITTIER, Calif. - The Whittier College women's tennis team released its 2010 schedule that features Division III, Division II and NAIA schools. In addition, the Poets will host the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on March 16 and 17.

The purple and gold start their season with a non-conference match, on the road, against La Sierra on January 27. The first home match for the Poets is schedule on January 30 against one-of-two NAIA opponents on the schedule, Hope International.

WC starts SCIAC action against co-SCIAC champion and NCAA tournament quarterfinalist Pomona-Pitzer on February 13.

Whittier's notable non-conference opponents includes Grand Canyon (D-II), Biola (NAIA), Notre Dame de Namur (D-II), Whitman and UC Santa Cruz.

The Poets will also take part in the Annual Ojai Tournament on April 22-24.
