Volleyball Drops First Home Match, Poets lose in straight games to UCSC


Whittier College lost in straight games to the University of California-Santa Cruz (30-17, 30-27, 30-22) in the Poets' first home match of the season on September 16.  The Poets are now 0-6 while the Banana Slugs improved their record to 4-3.

Christa Rainville '08 filled the stat sheet with ten assists, five digs, two service aces and a solo block to lead the Poets in the loss.     Lisset Madgaleno '10 had a team-high five kills and four solo blocks and added a block assist.  Bibi Gonzalez '08 finished with seven digs, six assists and three kills.
