Volleyball Takes on Divsion III #4 in San Antonio

Whittier College volleyball took a short break in their conference schedule to travel to San Antonio, Texas and take on nationally ranked #4 Trinity University on October 11.  The Poets lost in straight games, 30-12, 30-19, 30-15 to drop their record to 2-13.

Shanell McMillen '08 led the Poets with 12 kills and seven digs.  Lenny Recinos '08 finished with five kills and six digs.  Christa Rainville '08 was credited with eleven assists. 

For Trinity, Alexis Edwards finished with 12 kills, eleven digs and two service aces.  Emily Hilliard and Adrienne Busch had 14 and 13 digs, respectively.  Trinity had 18 aces in the match, seven from Megan Guest and five from Taylor Malloy.

The Poets return to Southern California and resume their conference schedule on October 16, when they travel to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for a 7:30pm match.
