Volleyball Ends '08 with SCIAC Win

Whittier College Volleyball ended their season with a win on
November 6 with a three-set sweep of Caltech in Pasadena,
Calif. The Poets finished the season 5-21 overall and 2-12 in
SCIAC play, good for seventh place.
The Poets cruised to victory in the match, winning 25-17, 25-10,
25-12. The future of Poets volleyball is bright, as the
freshmen and sophomores came of age in the final matches of the
season.
For the second time in three matches, Frankie Marshall '12 led the team with seven kills. She also pitched in with six digs. Sara Araiza '12 had five kills and was credited with match-highs of ten digs, four service aces and 13 assists. Shannon Orlins '11 finished with five kills and six digs. Alyssa Carillo '12 finished with seven assists, three aces and five digs. Victoria Larios '11 had eight digs as the libero.
