Perine '08 named second team All-American

earned second team All-American honors in NCAA Division III for
her play during the 2007 season. It is the fourth straight
year Whittier College has had an athlete on a women's water polo
All-American team; Kim Charlson was a three-time All-American for
the Poets in 2004-2006.
Perine led the Poets this season with 80 goals, the second
most scored by a Poet in a single season. She is now fourth
on the all-time scoring list with 159 goals. She also led the
Poets in 2007 with 55 drawn penalties. The total places her
in third on the single season drawn penalties list. She
finished third on the team this season with 36.5 steals and had 24
assists.
Perine was also named first team All-SCIAC this season. The
Poets finished with a 12-16 overall record and a 5-5 record in
conference play.
