Poets end regular season with 5-1 win over Caltech


PASADENA, Calif. - The Whittier College women's water polo team concluded its regular season this morning with a 5-1 win over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Caltech. The Poets will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.

The purple and gold (8-16, 2-5 SCIAC) had four different goal scorers in the win as they were led by a two-goal effort from Sara Wolff.

Goalie Anahisa Aguirre made four saves and had two steals.

Sarah Peel, Arianna Weisenburger and Katrina Thoreson all had a goal in the win.

The SCIAC Championships will take place next weekend.
