Six Poets earn All-SCIAC All-Academic Recognition
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their All-Academic Team for women’s cross country and Whittier College had six players earn this honor for 2011.

Women’s Cross Country Earns Academic Recognition
By compiling a team grade-point-average of a 3.23, the Whittier women's cross country team became one of 167 institutions who earned Division III All-Academic status as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association earlier today.

The Whittier College men’s and women’s cross country team teamed up with Santa this holiday season to help needy kids within the Whittier community this past weekend.

Despite the cold, and rain, the Whittier College women’s cross country put together a strong team effort as they finished 3rd overall in the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships out of 21 teams.

The Whittier College women’s cross country team finished their 2011 regular season in impressive fashion as they finished in 2nd place overall in the SCIAC Championships only losing to nationally ranked Claremont-M-S.

Poets have wake-up call in Pomona-Pitzer Invitational
The Whittier College cross country team performed strongly at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational but it was too close for comfort for Coach Phillips as his lady Poets finished 4th while the men finished 8th.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced yesterday the week three results of the national cross country coaches’ poll for NCAA Division III and the Lady Poets come in at No. 26 out of a group of over 400 Div. III teams.

Women’s cross country finishes 6th at Titan Invitational
The Whittier College women’s cross country team continued where they off after last season with a strong showing at the 2011 Titan Invitational that included Div. I, II, and III cross country programs such as Long Beach State, University of San Diego, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, Loyola Marymount, and Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Whittier releases 2011 cross country schedule
The Whittier College cross country team will participate in four invitationals and complete their regular season with the SCIAC multi-dual meet and SCIAC Championships as head coach Greg Phillips officially released the Poets’ 2011 season schedule.
